The 'Jungkit Motorsport Syndrome'
What is 'jungkit motorsport' you ask? Its what we besturds call them jongkang jonket cars that are sporting ultra stiff and tall rear suspension...
I use to see only Saga, Iswara, Wira on them...nowadays...almost everything across the board is found inflicted with the syndrome..
The Infamous 4WD Solid Axle Monster Saga
Earlier tonight I had a chance to meet up with some old friends who coincidentally drives this sort of Hip-Hop Jongkang Jonket style Saga Iswaras, each with different degrees of err...gradient?..yeah..gradient sounds about right..
Each Saga Iswara was also sporting different engines, suspension setups with one even sporting a set of W124 OEM springs!! Now that's hardcore!!
What i found out is, this kinda weird setup actually works!! 5 different types of Saga Iswara for me to test and only thing they have in similarity is the 'Nungkit Motorsport' look...
Those who has driven Saga Iswara before knows for a fact what a tail happy and zero rear grip this car is well known for....Most of Saga Iswaras mishaps happen when the rear loses traction and starts overtaking the front...
The rear drum brake is one of the contributing factor, in a haste to reduce cost, Proton has fitted the Saga Iswara with a less powerful front brake from its Japanese counterparts thus resulting in a lopsided brake bias to the rear.
The other contributing factors is probably the rear weight of the car and also the rear suspension which is of a separate spring and shock setup.

By stiffening up the rear and have it high up till you can even see the petrol tank is actually improving the rear grip of Saga Iswara......yes..its strange...but I can attest to that after going through at least 5 different setups tonight...
That weird look actually helps the balance, handling and rear grip of this chassis.
Go Figure!!! Well...its fuel for thought..They may have hit upon something here huh..
So guys...'Nongkit Motorsport' style on Saga Iswara...is a good thing..It actually works, I can't explain it but they do work!
so we have turds on our face for laughing at them now huh....
